Luther Academy

Rev. Preus visited Chile in March, 2006 to meet with President Carlos Schumann of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Republic of Chile (IELCHI). President Schumann and other pastors expressed a desire to see Luther Academy work done in Chile. As a result a theological seminar for pastors took place November 12-16, 2007 in Viña del Mar, Chile. Pastors from five South American countries were in attandance for a concentrated study on the doctrine of the Person and work of the Holy Spirit, taught by Dr. Leo Sanchez of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. In 2008 the second annual South America Luther Academy Conference was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Once again pastors from five countries attended to study the doctrine of Justification. The teacher for this conference was Dr. Martin Teigen, Mission Director for the Minnesota South District of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod. Rev. Daniel Preus assisted with the instruction. In 2010 the conference took place in Buenos Aires again with Dr. Douglas Groll teaching on the topic: Preaching Law and Gospel.
