Walter A. Hellwig is senior vice president and regional portfolio manager for a national wealth management firm. He has thirty-nine years experience in the financial services industry.
A nationally recognized professional, Mr. Hellwig was named by Barron’s as one of the country’s top 100 mutual fund managers.
Also, he was listed among the top ten large-cap value managers by the Wall Street Journal, achieving rankings of No. 1 and No. 3 for two separate calendar years.
He earned both his BSBA and MBA from Washington University (St. Louis, Mo.).
Mr. Hellwig has been a delegate to synodical and district conventions and served in various LCMS congregational offices. In the 1980s, he served on the President’s Advisory Council for Dr. Robert Preus at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. For the past three years he has been a director of the Luther Academy.
